Many companies and industries are currently advancing their efforts towards the SDGs. The logistics industry conducts a significant amount of truck transportation, and reducing environmental impact has become a major challenge. At the same time, labor shortages are also a significant issue for the logistics industry. Logistics companies have made efforts in the past, such as introducing fuel-efficient and low-emission environmentally friendly vehicles (eco-cars) and recycling plastic pallets, but it has been considered that more substantial and fundamental measures are necessary. To fundamentally improve both the reduction of environmental impact and the response to labor shortages, the concept of "modal shift" has been proposed.
